Celebr8 FAQ

Q: Who can join the parade?
A: Any individual, group or business based in or around Milton Keynes, we do not accept registration from any political party, Celebr8MK is about community and celebration and we wish to stay non political.

Q: How must does it cost to join the parade?
A: There are no fees for not for profit groups and individuals, for registered companies we ask for a £500 donation if they wish to have a float or vehicle, if they just wish to march there is no cost.

Q: Who owns Celebr8MK and does anybody make money from it?
A: Celebr8MK is a not for profit company. People working on the organisation of the event are paid for time spent if money allows. The first priority is always the logistics and safe operation of the parade, any surplus will be invested for next years parade.

Q: Can I participate in my powered wheelchair?
A: Yes. Celebr8MK was born from Celebr8 a diversity parade held in 2008 and 2009, we actively welcome all.

Q: Hold long will the parade take?
A: We expect the route to take about an hour at a slow walking pace.

Q: How will it be marshalled if we are walking down a main road?
A: Thames Valley Police along with Milton Keynes Council Safety Action Group, are all involved in the planning, licensing and delivery of the parade. Celebr8MK are supported by Make A Difference for marshals on the day who are all experienced.

Q: Am I expected to dress up?
A: If you want to: YES. We would encourage you to
show off your group, faith or business in any way
you want, we allow banners, flags, dressing up,
themed floats, as long as they are safe for use in a
public place the more flamboyant the better.

Q: We are a small local group is this parade for us?
A: YES YES and YES, whether you are a national charity
or a small 3 person group you are very welcome.

Q: Why are we having this parade?
A: Because we have a lot to celebrate in Milton Keynes and
after the previous parades we were approached to
make this a city wide event.
